The 2011 Loyalty Day Dinner-Dance

Recognizing the need for funds for the purchase of an Electronic Bulletin Board for the UPLB Campus, and to fulfill our pledge to support a Professorial Chair for our Alma Mater, the University of the Philippines at Los Banos:

- In order to boost the effectiveness of retention of outstanding UPLB faculty and research scientists, and to sustain our university’s Continuing Improvement efforts for enhancing instructional and research performance to meet current global competencies in agriculture, forestry, marine and environmental sciences, engineering and technology, biotechnology, business, athletics, education, music and arts;

- In order to “Develop, plan, implement and evaluate programs that are fundamentally sound and beneficial to students, faculty, and staff of the University of the Philippines-Los Baños, to help the university in achieving its goals and objectives as an excellent institution for instruction, research and extension”;

Our Association, the UPLBAAA, wishes to enjoin you to support our campaign for funds this year. The first activity is a raffle of the following prizes:

First Prize – Round trip air fare to the Philippines from the West Coast or $1,500 in cash

Second Prize – 50-inch Flat-screen TV or $800 in cash

Third Prize -  One laptop or $500 in cash

Consolation – Ten (10) cash prizes of $50 each

You can help by purchasing tickets from any members, or selling the tickets if you are a member at $5.00 each. Booklets of 11 tickets each were sent out to many of our members.  Additional information were sent with these tickets, and if you have any questions, please contact any of our officers.

Our campaign begins in February, 2011.  Updates of the progress of the campaign will be posted in this website.  Sale proceeds with the name, address and/or e-mail address must be sent by the end of June.   Mail the stubs and check payable to UPLBAA-America to our Treasurer:

Final drawing of tickets will be held during our Loyalty Day Ball which is tentatively set for October 22, 2011.  The venue and particulars will be announced later.  Winners need not be present to claim their prize(s) during the drawing. We will ensure that winners are sufficiently and officially informed of their winnings.

About Us

The University of the Philippines – Los Baños Alumni Association of America (UPLBAAA), with members located throughout the US and Canada, was formed on October 5, 1996 after several picnic gatherings in San Francisco, California. It was decided that an organization such as this is important to provide a forum for UPLB alumni to refresh college day memories, and re-establish contact with long-seen or heard of relatives and friends. One of the objectives of the organization is to provide assistance to U.P. Los Baños in accomplishing its missions as an outstanding academic institution through scholarships and other projects.
